A lot of ITA bags look great and then fail at the most practical job of all: carrying a laptop. If you work, study or game on the go, the laptop decides which bag you can use every day. Here is what fits in each Pinbuds bag, straight from our product specs.
First, check your laptop
Laptop sizes are screen sizes, measured diagonally in inches. Two 15″ laptops can have quite different footprints: a slim ultrabook and a thick gaming laptop are both called 15″. So before you choose, find your laptop's width, depth and thickness on the maker's spec page. If your laptop sits between sizes, size up.
ITA bags for laptops up to 15″
- 15″ 3-Way Shapeshift Backpack, thick cotton: up to 15″. It fits a 15″ MacBook Air (34 × 24 cm / 13.4 × 9.4 in) because the top flap rises for about 4 cm (1.6 in) of extra room. The laptop compartment has a Velcro strap, and there is a separate document or iPad compartment.

An ITA bag for laptops up to 16″
The 16″ 2-Way ITA Tote takes laptops up to 16″, plus a Switch or Steam Deck, in a padded sleeve. It is a tote and shoulder bag rather than a backpack.

Outer sizes are the whole bag, not the laptop sleeve, so do not compare them directly with your laptop. Use the laptop column to choose, and the outer size to picture the bag on you.
Protecting your laptop
Every Pinbuds bag has structural foam support, so it stands up and keeps its shape instead of folding around your laptop. A firm bag protects the screen and keeps the pin display flat at the same time. If you commute in the rain, choose a water-repellent fabric: of the bags above, the tough Oxford 3-Way, the Daily Backpack Pro, the 16″ tote, the 17″ 4-Way, the Expandable and the 18″ 4-Way all qualify. The thick cotton 3-Way has waterproof zips, but its cotton is not water-repellent.

Will a 16″ laptop fit in a 15″ ITA bag?
We do not recommend it. Choose a bag that fits laptops up to 16″ or more, such as the 16″ 2-Way tote or the 17″ 4-Way.
Does the 17″ 4-Way fit smaller laptops?
Yes. It fits a range of laptops, up to 17″.
Can I carry a laptop and a tablet together?
